I’ve been in that place where I thought that I had my entire life figured out, only to have the Lord show up (as only He can) and change the entire trajectory of my life and business. My plans for my life included running a chain of home decor and gift stores across the South Eastern United States, and with 10 years of running multiple decor and seasonal stores under my belt, I was perfectly positioned to do just that.
Along with my experience in running stores, I had also racked up over $10,000 in “business” debt on my personal credit cards, endless late nights wracked with worry over paying all of our bills, and less and less time with my young boys as I had to work more and more to keep all the plates up in the air.
After the birth of baby boy #3, the Lord called me out and told me that it was time to lay all of my work to rest. The exact message I kept getting was…”It’s not over, but it’s done.” With those words echoing in my head, and after months of prayer and deliberation, I told my business partner I was done. We promptly closed the store, and I went home to be with my boys.
As a loving Father he revealed to me an opportunity to start a business from home while homeschooling my children, that would allow me to bring in more income while working WAY less.
He showed me how the experiences, trials, knowledge, and lessons that I had learned in my decade of retail experience had perfectly positioned me to serve other women of faith who were looking to start and grow profitable businesses of their own around their schedules.
